There were 18 Old Boys, covering a span of 70 years, at the London Group’s 58th annual lunch on Saturday, June 4.

The eldest, Jim Gabriel, left Shore in 1940 while the four Gap Year students in attendance, Ed Tilly, Tom Stobo, Nick McKeith and Tim Felan, left school at the end of 2010.

The only event on the UK and EU Old Boys’ calendar was again held in the basement dining room of the Spaghetti House restaurant in Bryanston Street, London, just 100 metres or so from the city landmarks of Marble Arch and Speakers’ Corner, Hyde Park.

There are more than 140 Old Boys living and working in the UK, Eire, France and Germany so, with the London Olympics in mind, organisers of next year’s lunch are hoping to celebrate The Games with alumni from around the globe – competitors and officials included – who’ll be in the vicinity on July 21, 2012, the last Saturday before the Opening Ceremony (Friday, July 27).
