The 1946, 65 Year Reunion was held at the School on the afternoon of Friday 8 April 2011.

Some 32 from the year attended, assembled by Conveners Graeme Anderson, John Chapman and Pax Lambert.  Those who came early were treated to a tour of Graythwaite by the Bursar Mrs Kathy Dickson and OBU Community Relations Manager Rick Clive.  The tour brought many anecdotes of our cadet days in the grounds.

Interstate and Country were well represented with John Blackwell and Graham Pennefather making the trip from WA, Ian Scott  and John Sutton  from the ACT, and Fred Withey from QLD.  Ed Carr (Cowra), Roy Horrocks (Umina), Doug Jamieson (Narrabri), Alan Kellett (Mudgee), Doug Laurie (Walcha), Murray Locke (Holbrook), and Max Moffitt (Alstonville), were among those who travelled from NSW Country regions.

The Headmaster Dr Tim Wright joined the group for a pre-lunch refreshment and spoke about the success of the School since the Alumni last met five years ago.  He then gave Graeme Anderson a white detention card for leading across the 'out of bounds" oval!

Graeme then welcomed all and called on a moments silence in memory of ‘Lost Comrades’.

John Chapman gave a Toast to the Queen, while John Sutton gave a Toast to the School.

A highlight of the afternoon was the viewing of a 4 minute silent film showing the boys of 1946 at School in their last year with guidance by Brian Shearman, while each in attendance gave a brief summary of ‘Memorable Moments’ in one’s life since leaving School.

It was interesting to note that many had embarked on a career in Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Accounting and Law, while quite a number since retiring were sailing, playing golf or playing bridge.

To end a most successful afternoon Rick Clive gave an interesting report on Old Boys' activities as well as informing the gathering on the success of a number of Old Boys recently in business and in sport.

Pax Lambert closed the afternoon with all in attendance singing a short version of Auld Langsyne.

The year will re-assemble in 2013 following confirmation that five years was far too long away.
