The Tamworth Group held another successful day on Friday 27 August, this time with Golf and Dinner  being at the Tamworth Golf Course. Although numbers were down a little this year with only 18 golfers braving the wet conditions, Gordon Brownhill was able to capture the 18 holes trophy while Ian MacDermott was the 9 holes winner. The District Shield went to Quirindi once again.

A new initiative , the idea of President Bill Wilmott , Clay Pigeon Shooting was competed for by 8 people and the New Trophy for Top Gun went to David Ronald.  Bowls did not play this year because of lack of numbers.

The dinner was attended by 38 people and guest speakers for the evening were The Headmaster Dr Tim Wright, Peter Wilkins ABC Sports Commentator and Andy Cavill School Sports Master for the last 21 years who is retiring from the position this year.

President, Bill Wilmott, has completed  his two year term and David MacCathie was voted in as the new President. The Secretary, Treasurer and Auditor remain unchanged.

Next year’s event will be held on Friday 26 August.  Confirmation of the course will be made shortly and published in the OBU Fixture Card and posted on the OBU Website.
