1980 Reunion

Some 77 Old Boys gathered at the Cabana Bar, Northern Suburbs Rugby Club, St Leonards on Friday evening 13 August 2010 to celebrate their 30 year reunion.
The Cabana Lounge made a great setting for the gathering with many among the group having not caught up with each other for many years. A notable first timer was David Bennett who travelled from the South Coast town of Tilba Tilba for his first reunion. Others making the trek from the NSW Country included James Badgery (Willow Tree), Peter Campbell (Crookwell), Hugh Cooke (Yass), Chris Cox (Lowther), Kenneth Cranney (Terrigal), Richard Crowther (Forster), Rob Long Pallamallawa), Ian Lyall (Bobs Farm), Tom Ryan (One Mile),and Christopher Sullivan (Bolwarra Heights), while David Murphy (WA), Andrew Wilson (QLD), Harley Buckland (ACT), and Mike Macdermid (VIC) visited from interstate. Nigel Parsons (Hong Kong) represented those from overseas.
Looking as fit as he was in his playing days and looking like he could still sling them down today, Michael Biddulph kept everyone entertained with some great stories of his fast bowling feats during his two years in the 1st X1.
Speeches were kept to a bear minimum, with Tony Bulmer welcoming all and thanking the Conveners for assembling so many from the year, for the occasion.
The evening finished for most around 12 midnight, with a small group ‘batting on’ till the early hours of the morning.
Many ‘backed up’ the next day and were visibly noticed on ‘Old Boys Hill’ carrying on from where they left off the night before chatting amongst themselves and mixing with the 1985 and 2000 guys while barracking for the 1st and 2nd XV’s against Kings.
David Buckland and his fellow Conveners should be congratulated on organising such a great reunion.
