All Sports Lunch

This year’s “All Sports Lunch” held on Friday 28th May 2010 celebrated all things sport at Shore School and honoured the achievements of one of our most illustrious coaching icons, Bob Shirlaw who retires as Rowing Master after 31 years.

The Four Season’s ballroom was packed to the rafters with 430 guests enjoying the occasion while celebrating the School, the achievements of her sons and the fellowship we have as members of the Shore community.

Our guest speaker, former Headmaster Bob Grant (1984 – 2002), delivered a wonderful speech through which he talked about the importance games play in the life of the School and ending with a tribute to Bob Shirlaw, Rowing Master (1979 – 2010).

Master of Ceremonies – Paul Gregg (85) kept the luncheon on track while Andy Cavill (retiring Sportsmaster) presided over his last Sports & Trivia Quiz and was honoured for his 20+ years as Sportsmaster.

It was a fitting celebration of Bob Shirlaw’s extraordinary life at Shore. The function was extremely successful in enhancing community spirit towards the school and we are already planning for 2012.
